I bought a new helmet. a very cool one.
Now I loook like the chief from Halo.
with a new riding jersey and the helmet, all in the bike’s colors, I totaly look the part. and as we all know, it’s what gets you out the door.
the early sunset and the fact that I”m working till 5pm, forces me to do my workdays riding after dark. but that’s what head torches are for.
On sunday I went to check out the Shafdan singles in west Rishon Lezion.
the city has build a nice trail system that winds through willow trees and along a seasonal lake. the singel is very fast and flowing. flying throght the wilow branches makes you dodge and duck some of the invading branches.
the whole ride, in the middle of an isolated terrain and in pitch black with only the beam of my head torch to show me the way felt very sureal and omenious. but I was also surprised how fun it was and how riding in the dark adds to the adrenalin and excitment of what, during the day light, would be a mandane ride.
[Shafdan single (with approach) – 17.1 k”m – 1:13 hrs. – avg. 14.1 km/h ]
tuesday, I wanted to check out the around Nes Ziona trail. to do so I had to cross the Rishon city center and ride all the way to Nes Ziona. I only rode the eastern part of the trail aprox. 10 k”m on wide white trails winding around the orchades. some easy ascents and some nice descents and some sidewalk riding. but all in all it wasn’t a very exciting trail. maybe the west side will be better.

maybe in the futere i’ll post some maps and GPS files. I got this new exciting GPS app for my Iphone called “Twonav” with loads of option and stats. I love stats.
